Looking Ahead

The updated rates will directly support a strong slate of utility investments already underway or scheduled for the coming year. Most notably, the City will begin long-awaited maintenance work at the Meadows Water Tower next year. Agreements have been executed to work on all three of the water towers over the next six years; starting with Meadows.  Importantly, these agreements also establish ongoing annual maintenance so all three of these critical assets are properly cared for on a routine basis.

In addition, the City will continue advancing major system improvements, including the 94-to-Springfield system upgrade, and construction of the Meadows Trunk Line to support growth, and sustained inflow and infiltration (I&I) mitigation efforts throughout the system. These efforts build on targeted pipe replacements, meter upgrades, valve installations, well improvements, lift station work, and other utility projects completed in the past year.

Together, these investments reflect a deliberate, long-term approach to maintaining, protecting, and preserving Willard’s water and sewer utilities, supporting reliable service today while responsibly preparing the system to serve the community for decades to come.
