- The Tree Board was established by City Ordinance and shall consist of at least three (3) and no more than ten (10) members.
- Members shall be residents of the City at large but may include members from outside the City limits.
- Meetings are to take place quarterly and this annual schedule of meetings is announced in January of each year.
Duties of the Tree Board include:
- To study, investigate, counsel and develop and/or update annually and administer a written plan and budget for the care, maintenance, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of both trees and shrubs in park, along streets and in other public places.
- When requested by the Board of Aldermen shall consider, investigate, make findings, report and work/responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain a list of desirable trees for planting along streets in three (3) size classes: small, medium and large. A list of trees that are not suitable for planting will also be created and maintained by the Board.
